Amazon Athena + Querri

Amazon Athena reporting without writing SQL

Querri reads the tables and views in the Glue database you pick, copies them into its Library, and answers questions about them in plain English alongside your other systems.

Querri only reads from Amazon Athena and never changes your records. SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and ISO 27001:2022 certified, and your data is never used to train a model.

What you can answer

Questions teams ask about their Amazon Athena data

What did each AWS service cost us, by team, last month?

Cost and usage tables queried through Athena are long and coded, and every new breakdown means another SQL query and another CSV of results in S3. Querri reads those tables on a schedule, so a finance lead can ask in plain language and track the totals as KPIs.

KPIs

Do the signups in our event lake match the leads in our CRM?

Athena only sees what sits in S3, so checking lake data against Salesforce or HubSpot usually means exporting both sides. In Querri both land in the same Library, and one question joins them.

The Library

Which log sources spiked overnight?

Nobody reruns the same Athena query every morning to look for odd swings. Nightly insights and monitors watch the copied tables and flag the changes worth a look.

What comes over

What Querri reads from Amazon Athena

Querri copies this data into your Library on a schedule, next to every other system you connect, so one question can draw on all of it.

  • Tables
  • Views
  • Glue databases

Incremental syncs

After the first load, each scheduled sync brings in only rows that are new or changed since the last one.

Read only

Querri reads from Amazon Athena and never creates, edits or deletes anything there. Every answer runs on Querri's own copy.

Who sees what

Querri's own sharing and row-level access decide who sees which rows, in chat, dashboards, Claude, ChatGPT and the API.

How to connect

Connect Amazon Athena to Querri

  1. 1

FAQ

Amazon Athena and Querri: common questions

How do I connect Amazon Athena to Querri?

Ask the Connector Agent for Amazon Athena, then enter your AWS region, an IAM access key ID and the secret access key in the secure form. Choose the Glue database whose tables Querri should list, and add a workgroup or S3 result location if your setup needs one.

What data comes over from Athena?

The tables and views in the database you choose from your AWS Glue Data Catalog, or from another Athena data catalog if you name one. You pick which tables to bring in, and Querri keeps their column types.

How often does Athena data refresh?

On the schedule you set for each table. A table can reload in full daily, weekly or monthly, or sync incrementally hourly, daily or weekly, bringing in only rows whose cursor column, such as updated_at, has moved since the last sync.

Can Querri connect to Athena with an IAM role instead of access keys?

No. The Athena connector needs an IAM user's access key ID and secret access key. Querri never falls back to its own AWS credentials or assumes a role, so a sync reads only what that key is allowed to read.

Does Querri change anything in Amazon Athena?

No. Querri only reads from Amazon Athena. It never creates, edits or deletes records there, and every answer runs on Querri's own copy of the data.

Is my Amazon Athena data secure in Querri?

Yes. Querri is SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and ISO 27001:2022 certified, credentials are stored encrypted, and your data is never used to train a model.
