Microsoft Excel + Querri

Ask questions of any Excel workbook, tab by tab

Upload a workbook and Querri reads every sheet, finds the tables on each one and answers questions about them, alone or next to the systems you've connected.

Querri only reads from Microsoft Excel and never changes your records. SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and ISO 27001:2022 certified, and your data is never used to train a model.

What you can answer

Questions teams ask about their Microsoft Excel data

Where are we over or under budget across all the department tabs?

A budget workbook with one tab per department means flipping between sheets and building a summary by hand. Querri reads every tab, lines the departments up and gives you one variance table you can keep refining.

Excel tools

Can I trust totals from a sheet with merged headers and subtotal rows?

Report-style sheets mix titles, blank rows and subtotals into the data, so a pivot table double-counts. Querri finds the real header row, leaves the subtotals out and tidies column names before any number is added up.

Data cleansing

How does the forecast in this workbook compare with what QuickBooks actually booked?

Forecasts are usually kept in Excel while actuals sit in the accounting system, and matching them means two exports and a lookup. With QuickBooks connected, Querri sets the workbook's months against booked figures in one answer.

Who sees what

Querri's own sharing and row-level access decide who sees which rows, in chat, dashboards, Claude, ChatGPT and the API.

How to connect

Connect Microsoft Excel to Querri

  1. 1

    Upload the file

Drag a workbook into Querri, or pick it from Google Drive.

  2. 2

    Check what was read

Querri looks at every tab, including tables that sit below a title block or start mid-sheet, and pulls out the ones your question needs. Upload a new version later and saved analyses check that the headers they rely on are still in place before reading.

  3. 3

    Ask your first question

Ask in plain language, then turn the answer into a dashboard or a scheduled report.

FAQ

Microsoft Excel and Querri: common questions

How do I get an Excel workbook into Querri?

Upload it. Drag the workbook into Querri or pick it from Google Drive, and you can ask about it straight away. There is no account to connect and no credentials to enter for a file you upload yourself.

Which parts of the workbook does Querri read?

Every sheet. Querri takes a first look at each tab when you upload, then reads the tables a question needs, including several tables on one tab or a table that starts below a title block.

How do I refresh the numbers when the workbook changes?

Upload the new version. An uploaded file doesn't sync on a schedule, so the data in Querri stays as it was until you upload again. Saved analyses then rerun against the new file after checking the headers they use are still there.

What if the layout of my workbook changes between versions?

Querri notices. Before a saved analysis reads a new version, it checks the anchor cell and header values it used last time. If a column moved or a header was renamed, Querri flags the change and maps the table again rather than reading the wrong cells.

Does Querri change anything in Microsoft Excel?

No. Querri only reads from Microsoft Excel. It never creates, edits or deletes records there, and every answer runs on Querri's own copy of the data.

Is my Microsoft Excel data secure in Querri?

Yes. Querri is SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and ISO 27001:2022 certified, credentials are stored encrypted, and your data is never used to train a model.
