Shopify + Klaviyo

Shopify + Klaviyo reporting, email and SMS measured in orders that stayed.

Klaviyo shows how each campaign and flow performed, and Shopify records every order, refund and unit cost. Ask what a campaign made after refunds and cost of goods, which flows bring buyers back, or which segments actually reorder, and get one answer that reads both. Querri copies Shopify and Klaviyo into one Library on a schedule and matches subscribers to customers by email address.

Querri only reads from Shopify and Klaviyo. It never changes an order, a product or a customer, and never sends a message or edits a list or flow. You approve Querri on Shopify's own screen and sign in to Klaviyo to approve read access, so no password or API key passes through Querri. SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and ISO 27001:2022 certified.

Why Shopify and Klaviyo reporting gets hard

Klaviyo measures the message. Shopify records the money. The answer needs both.

Each system does its own job well and reports on it well: Klaviyo on how campaigns and flows did, Shopify on what sold. The questions in between have meant an export from each and a spreadsheet to join them. Querri makes that one question.

01

Attributed revenue and net revenue are different numbers

Klaviyo credits a campaign with the orders placed after a click or an open. Shopify later records the refunds, returns and discounts on those orders. Say a campaign shows $40,000 in Klaviyo and half of it comes back in Shopify: neither tool shows both at once.

02

Cost of goods is in Shopify, not in an email report

Margin by campaign needs unit cost for each variant, which sits in Shopify or your ERP. A send that sold well at a deep discount can look like the best campaign of the month.

03

Repeat purchase happens months after the flow

A flow report counts the order the flow drove. Whether that buyer came back for a second and third order is in Shopify's order history, often well after the attribution window has closed.

04

Segments live in one tool and orders in the other

Klaviyo knows who is in each segment. Shopify knows what those people bought. Reorder rate by segment means joining the two on email address.

05

Sign-ups, their cost and the first order sit in three places

Email and SMS sign-ups are in Klaviyo, the ad spend that brought them in is in Meta Ads, Google Ads and Amazon Ads, and the orders that followed are in Shopify.

What you can finally answer

Six Shopify + Klaviyo questions that used to mean a spreadsheet

Each one needs Klaviyo's view of the message and Shopify's view of the order: why that has been hard, and what Querri does with it.

What did each acquisition campaign make once refunds and cost of goods are in?

Why it's hard

Klaviyo credits revenue to the campaign. Refunds, discounts and unit cost are in Shopify, so margin needs both, order by order.

With Querri

Querri matches each campaign's orders to Shopify, takes out refunds and discounts, and subtracts unit cost per variant. Tell it once in Facts & rules what contribution margin means for you.

Which flows bring buyers back, and keep them?

Why it's hard

Flow reports count the order a flow drove. Retention is about the second, third and fourth order, months later, in Shopify.

With Querri

Querri reads who received each flow from Klaviyo and follows those customers' Shopify orders over time, so you can compare 90-day and 180-day repeat rates by flow. Keep the comparison on a dashboard that updates with each sync.

What's revenue per subscriber, counted from Shopify orders?

Why it's hard

Attributed revenue counts the orders Klaviyo credits to a message. Subscribers also buy without a recent click or open, and those orders appear only in Shopify.

With Querri

Querri matches subscribers to Shopify customers by email and totals their net orders, credited to a message or not. Store revenue per subscriber as a KPI and keep Klaviyo's attributed figure beside it on the same chart.

Which segments actually reorder?

Why it's hard

Segment membership is in Klaviyo and orders are in Shopify, so reorder rate by segment has meant exporting both and matching them by hand.

With Querri

Querri reads segment and list memberships from Klaviyo, joins them to Shopify orders by email, and ranks segments by reorder rate and net revenue. Ask a follow-up, like the same view for SMS subscribers only, and it reuses the work.

Are email and SMS sign-ups keeping pace with ad spend?

Why it's hard

Sign-ups and consent are in Klaviyo, spend is in each ad console, and the first orders are in Shopify.

With Querri

Connect Meta Ads, Google Ads or Amazon Ads too, and Querri puts new email and SMS subscribers by month next to spend and first orders. Querri shows each platform's numbers as reported; it doesn't reassign credit between them.

Can I ask Claude or ChatGPT about Shopify and Klaviyo together?

Why it's hard

Paste two exports into a chat and each prompt joins them its own way. Two people get two answers.

With Querri

Link Querri to Claude or ChatGPT once. The assistant reads from your Library, uses your saved KPIs and rules, and respects each person's access.

Shopify + Klaviyo plus the rest

Add ad spend, payments and traffic, and the question still has one answer

Shopify and Klaviyo together answer most retention questions. The ad platforms add what each subscriber cost, Stripe adds subscription renewals, and Google Analytics adds the sessions in between. They all land in the same Library.

Shopify + Klaviyo pair well with

Answers you can stand behind

Attributed revenue or every order? Querri says which one it used.

Revenue per subscriber can fairly mean the revenue Klaviyo attributes to messages, or every order a subscriber placed in Shopify. Both are defensible, and they answer different questions. Save the one you plan on in Facts & rules and every chat, chart and dashboard uses it; when a question could be read either way, Querri says which reading it used. See how answers work.

Wake up to what changed

Querri watches orders, refunds and sign-ups overnight

Each night Querri compares your KPIs with their own history, by flow, segment and product, and does the math rather than guessing. Anything worth a look is in your Inbox by morning. Querri never pauses a flow or edits an order; you decide what to change.

Retention dashboards

Klaviyo and Shopify on one dashboard, with ad spend beside them

Describe the dashboard you want, or hand Querri a screenshot of the one your team uses now, and change it the same way. Campaign and flow results sit beside Shopify net revenue, refunds and margin, and each person can see only the rows that belong to them.

  • Built by asking, changed by asking
  • Klaviyo results beside Shopify net revenue
  • Each person sees only their rows
Ask for a dark theme and the whole dashboard changes; one click puts it back.

What comes over

Your store tables and your Klaviyo tables, side by side

Shopify brings its orders, catalog, customers, inventory and payout tables; Klaviyo brings profiles, lists, segments, events, campaigns, flows and their performance. Each lands in your Library and refreshes on its own schedule.

Among the tables from each side

  • Orders (Shopify)
  • Order line items (Shopify)
  • Refunds (Shopify)
  • Returns (Shopify)
  • Discounts (Shopify)
  • Product variants (Shopify)
  • Customers (Shopify)
  • Profiles (Klaviyo)
  • Lists (Klaviyo)
  • Segment Memberships (Klaviyo)
  • Events (Klaviyo)
  • Campaigns (Klaviyo)
  • Flows (Klaviyo)
  • Campaign Performance (Klaviyo)
  • Flow Performance (Klaviyo)
  • Shopify loads every table your store has data in; Klaviyo brings all thirteen of its tables

Both sides stay current

Shopify orders sync by their last update, as often as hourly, and an edited order brings its lines and refunds along. Klaviyo profiles and events sync incrementally, and its other tables reload in full each time.

Whole order history

Querri reads every order a Shopify store has, not only the last 60 days, through bulk operations on Shopify's GraphQL Admin API. Klaviyo profiles and events load in full on the first sync, and campaign and flow performance cover the last 365 days.

Read only, on both

Querri asks Shopify and Klaviyo only for read access. It never edits an order or a product, and never sends a message or changes a profile, list or flow.

Approved on each vendor's screen

You approve Querri on Shopify's own screen and sign in to Klaviyo to approve read access. No password or API key passes through the Connector Agent.

How to connect Shopify and Klaviyo

One chat with the Connector Agent sets up both

    Tell the Connector Agent

Open Connect and say "connect Shopify and Klaviyo," or pick each from the catalog.

  2. 2

    Approve Querri in Shopify

Type the store as acme or acme.myshopify.com, then grant read-only access when Shopify asks. Installing from the Shopify App Store works too.

  3. 3

    Sign in to Klaviyo

Klaviyo's own page lists the read access Querri asks for. Approve it there; nobody copies an API key.

  4. 4

    Approve the load and schedules

Nothing loads until you say yes. Approve the first load and how often each side syncs.

  5. 5

    Ask across both

Ask which segments reorder most. Querri tells you how it matched subscribers to customers.

Shopify + Klaviyo FAQ

Questions about Shopify, Klaviyo and Querri

How do I connect Shopify and Klaviyo to Querri?

Ask the Connector Agent to connect Shopify and Klaviyo, or pick each from the catalog. Approve read-only access on Shopify's screen, then sign in to Klaviyo and approve read access there. Approve the first load and a sync schedule for each, and the data arrives.

Is Querri an app that moves Shopify data into Klaviyo?

No. Querri doesn't move data between the two or change either one. It reads both into its own Library so you can ask questions across them. Whatever connects your store to Klaviyo today keeps doing its job.

What Shopify and Klaviyo data does Querri sync?

From Shopify: orders, line items, refunds, returns, discounts, products and variants, customers, inventory and payouts. From Klaviyo, thirteen tables: profiles, lists, segments, list and segment memberships, metrics, events, campaigns, campaign messages, flows, campaign and flow performance, and catalog items.

How often does the data sync?

On the schedule you choose for each side. Shopify incremental syncs can run as often as hourly. Klaviyo profiles and events pick up what changed since the last sync, and the other Klaviyo tables reload in full.

Does Querri change anything in Shopify or Klaviyo?

No. Querri only reads. It never edits an order, a product or a customer in Shopify, and never sends a message or changes a profile, list, segment or flow in Klaviyo.

How does Querri match Klaviyo subscribers to Shopify customers?

By email address, which both systems store. If your team matches on something else, such as a customer ID you send to Klaviyo, say so once in Facts & rules and Querri uses it.

How do I see campaign revenue after refunds?

Querri matches the orders behind a campaign's revenue to Shopify and takes out the refunds and returns recorded there. Ask for it by campaign, flow or month, or keep it on a dashboard.

Will Querri's numbers match Klaviyo's reports?

Klaviyo's campaign and flow performance come over as Klaviyo reports them, with revenue attributed to Placed Order. Revenue after refunds, margin and revenue from every Shopify order are separate figures that Querri works out from both systems, and it says which one an answer uses.

Does Querri do attribution between Klaviyo and our ad platforms?

No. Querri doesn't run multi-touch attribution or media-mix models and doesn't reassign credit between channels. It shows Klaviyo's attributed revenue and each ad platform's reported numbers next to the orders and refunds Shopify recorded.

Can I add Meta Ads, Google Ads or Amazon Ads?

Yes. Connect them too, and spend by platform sits next to Klaviyo sign-ups and Shopify orders in the same Library, so cost per subscriber and spend against margin come out of one question.

Can I connect more than one store or Klaviyo account?

Yes. Each Shopify store and each Klaviyo account is its own connection, and they all land in the same Library.

Can I ask ChatGPT or Claude about my Shopify and Klaviyo data?

Yes. Link Querri to Claude or ChatGPT once. The assistant reads from your Querri Library, uses your saved KPIs and rules, and sees only what that person can see in Querri.

Is my Shopify and Klaviyo data secure in Querri?

Querri is SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and ISO 27001:2022 certified. You approve access on Shopify's and Klaviyo's own screens, so no password or API key passes through Querri, and your data never trains a model. Sharing and row-level access set which rows each person sees.
